Prawns Biryani / Kolambi Bhat / Shrimp Biryani

I ‘m sharing Restaurant style Spicy Prawns Biryani in a simple way and how to make it in a pressure cooker at home. This Prawns Biryani is the combination of the marination of Prawns and rice and Garam Masala has a good flavor. This recipe can make it any special occasion and the party also.

Ingredient

  • 500 gm prawns (medium size)
  • 1 ½  glass Rice (Basmati)
  • 3 onion (onion sliced)
  • 1 Tomato (finely chopped)
  • 1 tsp ginger garlic green chilli paste
  • 1 green chillies (sliced)
  • 2 to 3 Garlich (finely chopped)
  • 2 inch Ginger (finely chopped)
  • 1 bayleaf
  • 1 tsp Caraway seeds/shahi jeera
  • 3 black paper
  • 3 cloves
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 2 tsp red chilli powder
  • ½  tsp coriander powder
  • 1 tsp garam masala powder
  • 2 tsp biryani masala
  • ½   tsp turmeric
  • 1 small bowl fried onion
  • 3 tsp lemon juice
  • 1 ½   glass of water
  • 1 ½  tsp salt
  • 3 to 4 tsp of oil
  • 2 tsp of ghee

Method

  • Take a bowl and add to it medium size prawns first, clean, devein the Prawns and wash it. And pat dry with palm.
  • Then add into the ¼ tsp turmeric, ½ tsp garam masala, 1 tsp red chilli powder and ½ tsp salt, 3 tsp lemon juice and 1 tsp ginger garlic green chilli paste And to mix well and marinate for half an hour. (If prawns are frozen then lemon juice gets rid of the fishy smell otherwise it gets the enhanced flavour).
  • Wash the Basmati rice and soak for half an hour.
  • After that Take a pressure cooker and put it on flame and add 3 tsp of oil when oil is heated, then add 1 bay leaves and 1 tsp of caraway seeds. Add to it 3 balack paper, 3 cloves, 1 cinnamon stick and mix it.
  • Then add to it finely chopped ginger and garlic and mix well.
  • Add to it all sliced onion and stir it. add sliced green chillies and stir it. stir for onion when its colour is changed golden brown.
  • Add 1 tomato to finely chopped and mix it. Mix it for 2 to 3 minutes.
  • When tomatoes are soft then add to it ¼   tsp turmeric powder, ½ tsp coriander powder,    1 tsp red chilli powder, ½  tsp garam masala powder, 1 tsp biryani masala and 1 tsp salt and all to mix it.
  • Then add to it magnate prawns and all to mix well.
  • After that add to it soaked rice and all to mix well. Then add to 1 tsp biryani masala and mix it.  Then add 1 ½ glass of water and add to it some corianders, 2 tsp of ghee add it.
  • Close the lid of the pressure cooker and give the 2 whistles to the pressure cooker.
  • After 2 whistles, turn off the flame and live the pressure cooker for 10 minutes.
  • Then Prawns biryani is cooked.
  • Serve Prawns biryani with raita and salad.
