Misal Pav

Misal Pav is a very popular dish in India.Specially Misal Pav is very popular in Maharashtra as a street food. It’s taste is very spicy and yummy. It can be made for Misal pav in morning breakfast, snacks. Misal pav is one dish with enough stomach for lunch. It is a very healthy Misal pav to eat. It makes very easily available ingredients at home. I make street food corner style Misal Pav. When I can make this Its taste is very delicious. Misal pav is a combination of Moth beans (Matki) or sprouts and some spices to the taste of flavour to enhance.

  • ¼ bowl dry coconut (sliced)
  • 2  onion (sliced)
  • 1 Tomato
  • 1 boiled Potato (Roughly smashed)
  • 4 Garlic cloves
  • 1 inch ginger (roughly chopped)
  • 3 to 4 Curry Leaves
  • 1 bowl Moth beans or sprouts (Matki)
  • 1 bowl Farsan / Hot mix
  • 1 small bowl coriander leaves (finely chopped)
  • 1 bowl onion (finely chopped)
  • ½ tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1 tsp garam masala (kitchen king)
  • 1 tsp jaggery (greated)
  • 1 ½ tsp salt
  • 2 tsp oil
  • 3 ½  glass water


  • First take a moth bean in a bowl and wash 2 times and moth beans add into the    pressure cooker and add ½ tsp turmeric powder and ½ tsp salt and 1 glass water. Close the Lid of the pressure cooker and give the one whistle. After one whistle, keep aside to cool down
  • Prepare the masala for Misal.Then Turn on the flame and put on a pan to heat it then add into the 2 sliced onions, 5 garlic cloves, roughly chopped ginger and roughly chopped tomato and stir it. Stir for 5 to 6 minutes when onions change the colour brown and tomato is soft. And transfer into the mixer jar.
  • In the same Pan add into the sliced dry coconut and roast it. Roast for till it changes color golden. Then turn off the flame And transfer into the mixer jar and add ½ glass water and all masala to grind it. Grind to it fine paste.
  • Then turn on the flame, put it on a kadai then add into the 2 tsp of oil when oil is heated then add into the 4 curry leaves.
  • Curry leaves flirt, then pour it, grind it fine paste. And mix well. Mix for 5 to 6 minutes.
  • After that add into the 1 tsp coriander powder, 1 tsp kitchen king garam masala powder, 1 tsp red chilli powder and all to mix well. Stir it when oil is not separated from masala. (kitchen king is not available in the kitchen then use any brand garam masala).
  • Then add into the boiled Moth beans with water and all to mix well.
  • Add 2 ½ glass of water and 1 ½ tsp of salt and add 1 tsp of jaggery all to mix well. Boil this curry for 6 to 7 minutes.
  •  Misal curry is ready to serve.

  • Take a small plate then first add into the some Moth beans and spread it then add into the some roughly smashed potato. Put it on farsan on smashed potato then add into some onion and garnish with some coriander leaves and pour moth curry 1 big spatula.
  • This garnish plate serves with pav and onion and lemon and some coriander.
