Kothimbir Vadi

Kothimbir vadi is one of the most popular special dish in India .Kothimbir Vadi easily available in Snack corners And Hotels also. Kothimbir means Coriander leaves to use for this vadi to make. Its taste is very delicious and crispy too. Kothimbir Vadi is easily made with available ingredients at home. It is a very quick dish, you can make it in 15 mins . There are two types of making this Kothimbir Vadi. It can mostly make this Kothimbir vadi any Occasion or festival. Kothimbir Vadi is the combination of Fresh coriander and  Gram flour (besan) and some spices. Kothimbir Vadi to eat as a snack or starter. It can also serve Kothimbir Vadi at Lunchtime to make lunch very special.

Kothimbir Vadi

Ingredients

  • 1 Bowl of Fresh Coriander leaves
  • 1 Bowl Gram Flour/Besan
  • 1 small bowl peanut powder (roast the peanut and grind it mixer )
  • 1 small bowl rice flour
  • 4 to 5 tsp Lemon Juice
  • 1 tsp mustard seeds
  • 1 tsp poppy seeds
  • 5 tsp white sesame seeds
  • ½ tsp turmeric powder
  • ¼  tsp asafoetida
  • ½ tsp cumin powder
  • 7 to 8 Garlic (crushed)
  • 2 inch ginger (crushed)
  • 2 tsp red chilli powder
  • ½ tsp coriander powder
  • 1 tsp garam masala powder
  • ¾ glass of water
  • 2 ½ tsp salt
  • 8  tsp of oil

Method

  • First wash the Fresh Coriander leaves. Then finely chopped this coriander leaves. And transfer to the bowl.
  • Then take a Big bowl and add to it besan, small bowl rice four, 1 small bowl peanut powder, 1 tsp poppy seeds, 4 tsp white sesame seeds, ½ tsp cumin powder, crushed garlic, crushed ginger, ½  tsp of turmeric powder and 2 tsp red chilli powder, ½ tsp coriander powder, 1 tsp garam masala, ½ tsp cumin powder and 2 ½ salt and add to it ¾ glass of water and mix well of this mixture. There are no lumps in this Mixture to see.
  • After that  turn on the flame put in on a kadai then add 1 tsp of oil when oil is heated then add to it 1 tsp of mustard seeds when mustard seeds is flearted then add to it ¼ tsp asafoetida. Then pour this Gram flour mixture into the kadai and stir it.
  • And it continues to stir otherwise this mixture is burning the bottom of the pan.
  • When this batter is a little bit thick then add to it chopped coriander and all to mix well.
  • Continuously mix this mixture when it does not get thick batter.
  • After that this mixture is thick then turn off the gas and add to it 5 tsp of lemon juice and mix it. And leave coriander batter for some cool down.
  • Then Take a plate, add 2 to 3 drops of oil and Greece to this plate and transfer the some cool coriander batter into the plate and spread it evenly on the palm to the plate. And spread 1 tsp of white sesame seeds evenly.

  • And leave it on this plate for half an hour for rest to completely cool down.
  • After that, take a knife cut into the slice twice. (These small pieces of kothimbir vadi are stored in a box for one week and can fry it anytime).
  • Then Take a another kadai, add 7 tsp of oil and turn on the flame. When Oil is heated .
  • After that fry this one by one pc of Kothimbir Vadi in oil till its color changes to golden brown. (this kothimbir vadi can also shallow fry).
  • All Kothimbir Vadi to fry on this method and ready to serve.
  • It can be served Kothimbir Vadi as a snack or breakfast with green chutney and tomato catchup.
  • It can be served as a Kothimbir Vadi side dish as lunch and dinner too.
